Perry
was born on December 13th, 1950 in Waterloo, Iowa.
Not a particularly good student, he
was often in class drawing speaker designs or guitars or futuristic cars
instead of paying attention to the class. This tended to frustrate teachers
who often said: "He could be doing 'A' work if he would just apply
himself." But, as with many creative men, the tedious repetition of
school failed to stimulate his wild imagination.
During the late 60's he made a reputation
for himself building speaker cabinets for local musicians. He worked at
local music stores during the 70's and worked at "The Mouse" (Walt
Disney World) in the technical department. In 1980, Perry officially started
WRIGHT SOUND SYSTEMS, serving the local area musicians, churches, schools
and disc jockeys.
Today, Perry designs and produces modern
sound and audio procucts for professional use as well as the home. All designed
for ergonomics and functionality. Perry's fascination with "Mid-Century
Modern" design has influenced his home furnishings designs which are
functional as well as "groovy" looking. |
